Background
Jiao Yulu (1922-1964) was born in Zibo, Shandong Province. At the end of 1962 he was appointed the secretary of the party committee of the Lankao County of Henan Province where people were suffering from waterlogging, sand blown by the wind, and alkalization of soil. In order to change the underdeveloped situation of Lankao, he insisted on seeking truth from facts and depending on the mass. He led all people of the county to struggle hard and fight against natural disasters. Despite of his liver cancer, he worked whole-heartedly and finally died at his post. He is called ˇ°A Worthy Cadre of the Partyˇ±. He died on 14 May of 1965 in Zhengzhou. First he was buried in Zhengzhou Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery, and then moved to Lankao according his will.Share:
