Background
Song Qingling (1893-1981), born in Shanghai, is the wife of Sun Zhongshan. In her early years, she pursued her studies in America. Later she became one of the leaders of anti-fascist committee. She devoted herself to the cause of culture and education, social relief and health care for women and children from the year of 1938 on. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, she was elected as the vice-chairman of the PRC, the honorary chairman of China's Democratic Commission for Women. She joined the communist party in 1981. This set of stamps is to commemorate the centenary of birth of Song Qingling.Price List
