Background
Generally speaking, bamboo is grown in the torrid zone, subtropical zone, and warm temperate zone. It densely grown in monsoon region in southeast Asian. There are about 300 kinds of bamboo in China, where is the originating region of Asian bamboo. Since bamboo grows very quickly, it is widely used in many industries. Cutting bamboo instead of woods is a very effective way to protect forests. The newly-developed bamboo industry in China is seen as an important pillar industry.The five kinds of bamboo in the stamps are all grown in China. The first stamp is called purple bamboo, for when planted in the first year, its stalk is green, but in the next year, its color turns into purple. The second stamp is called golden-jade bamboo, for its stalk has two colors - yellow and green. The third stamp is called Buddha belly bamboo, for its stalk looks like a Buddha's belly. The last stamp is called tea-stalk bamboo, for its stalk is straight and smooth.
