China Post is scheduled to issue a set of 5 commemorative stamps and 1 souvenir sheet themed "The 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China" on October 1, 2019. The stamps bear the following designs: Sustained and Healthy Economic Development, Advancement of Socialist Democratic Politics, Flourishing Culture, Continuous Improvement of People's Livelihood, and Building a Beautiful China. The souvenir sheet is titled Blessing the Motherland. The total face value of the complete stamp set is 12 yuan.

In addition, a prestige booklet with the same theme will be jointly printed and issued with Hongkong Post and Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau. The booklet contains one souvenir sheet each from China Post, Hongkong Post, and Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau.

2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Over the past 70 years of relentless efforts, the Communist Party of China, relying closely on the people, has overcome numerous obstacles, achieved one victory after another, and created extraordinary miracles in the history of human development. These efforts have injected new vitality into Chinese civilization during modernization, revitalized scientific socialism in the 21st century, and brought a new lease of life to the Chinese nation.

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, China Post issues this set of commemorative stamps, showcasing the motherland's remarkable achievements in economy, politics, culture, society, ecological civilization, and other fields.

The stamps adopt the compositional features of murals and the design form of connected stamps, presenting a solemn, generous, and fresh style.

The first stamp incorporates elements such as urban construction, high-speed railways, aerospace, communications and the Internet, and intelligent equipment manufacturing, along with images of workers, to convey the theme of "Sustained and Healthy Economic Development".

The second stamp uses elements like the Great Hall of the People and legal documents, paired with images of deputies to the National People's Congress and members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, to reflect the institutionalization, standardization, and proceduralization of socialist democratic politics, embodying the connotation of "Advancement of Socialist Democratic Politics".

The third stamp features public cultural facilities including the National Museum of China, the National Centre for the Performing Arts, and the National Stadium, along with images of dancers and athletes, to demonstrate the concept of "Flourishing Culture".

The fourth stamp includes elements representing education, medical care, and social security, accompanied by images of children, to show that the people's sense of gain, happiness, and security has become more substantial, secure, and sustainable, highlighting the theme of "Continuous Improvement of People's Livelihood".

The fifth stamp depicts elements such as green mountains, clear waters, and vast endless forests, paired with images of a mother and child planting trees, to present a quiet, harmonious, and beautiful natural environment, emphasizing the theme of "Building a Beautiful China".

The souvenir sheet features the number "70" decorated with peony patterns and a large ship setting sail. Its border design shows people of all ethnic groups singing and dancing in celebration, conveying the meaning of "Blessing the Motherland" on its 70th anniversary.

This stamp set is designed by Yuan Yishan. The original artwork of the 56 ethnic groups on the souvenir sheet is created by He Jie, He Zhong, and Feng Xiaohong. The stamps are printed by Beijing Stamp Factory using the photogravure process.
