Background
China Post is scheduled to issue a set of 3 special stamps themed "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" on September 26, 2019. The stamps bear the following design titles: International Science and Technology Innovation Center, Facilitated Flow of Factors of Production, and Quality Living Circle. The total face value of the complete stamp set is 3.60 yuan. In addition, one miniature sheet will be issued, priced at 5.40 yuan.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area covers the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Macao Special Administrative Region, and the cities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, and Zhaoqing in Guangdong Province. With a total area of 56,000 square kilometers, it is one of the regions with the highest degree of openness and strongest economic vitality in China, and holds an important strategic position in the national development landscape. Building the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is not only a new attempt to promote the formation of a comprehensive new pattern of opening up in the new era, but also a new practice to advance the cause of "One Country, Two Systems".

This set of stamps adopts the expression method of computer painting.

In the first stamp, drones, the Guangdong-Macao Traditional Chinese Medicine Technology Industrial Park, and the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park complement each other. Combined with lines of varying lengths and thicknesses, crisscrossing light spots and color blocks, it creates the atmosphere of the Greater Bay Area as an international science and technology innovation center.

The second stamp takes the airport runway as the visual focus. Above it, port cargo ships and other elements reflect freight logistics and construction; the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Hong Kong West Kowloon Station echo each other in composition, demonstrating the improved and convenient transportation of the Greater Bay Area. At the same time, currency symbols of the three places are integrated into the flowing pattern lines to show the more international development blueprint of the Greater Bay Area.

In the third stamp, light is projected from above, presenting cultural elements with Lingnan characteristics such as Cantonese opera, dragon boat racing, martial arts, and lion dancing. Combined with the Guangzhou Nansha Wetland Park, the Hong Kong University-Shenzhen Hospital, and citizens engaging in fitness activities, it showcases the Greater Bay Area's people-oriented image of developing a quality living circle.

Special inks are used in the printing of the stamps to embellish the images, highlighting the sense of technology and modernity of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

This set of stamps is designed by Han Binghua, a famous designer from Hong Kong, and printed by Beijing Stamp Factory using the photogravure process.
