The Yangtze River Economic Belt covers 11 provinces and municipalities, including Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan, and Guizhou. It spans an area of approximately 2.05 million square kilometers, accounting for 21% of China's total land area. Both its population and economic aggregate exceed 40% of the national total, boasting an important ecological status, strong comprehensive strength, and enormous development potential. Promoting the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt is a major strategic decision and deployment made by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council to proactively adapt to, grasp, and lead the new normal of economic development, and scientifically plan China's new economic pattern. This decision is beneficial both for the present and the long term, and holds great practical significance and far-reaching historical significance for realizing the "Two Centenary Goals" and the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

On August 26, 2018, China Post issued a set of special stamps themed on "The Yangtze River Economic Belt", including 6 individual stamps and 1 miniature sheet.
The stamps vividly showcase the all-round development achievements of the Yangtze River Economic Belt through hand-painted art.

Stamp 1: "Jointly Strengthening Ecological Protection" focuses on the ecological civilization scenario composed of the Yangtze River's landscapes (mountains, rivers, forests, and farmlands), river-lake water systems, wetlands, and representative organisms. Key pattern elements include: tea plantations, the First Bend of the Yangtze River, terraced fields in the Jiangnan region, the Yangtze River ecological shelterbelt, steep mountains and dangerous shoals along the Yangtze River, Lushan West Lake, Suzhou Taihu Lake Wetland, and Yangtze finless porpoises.

Stamp 2: "Comprehensive Three-Dimensional Transportation Corridor" centers on the three-dimensional transportation network formed by Yangtze River waterway shipping (ships), railways, highways, bridges, and aviation. Main pattern elements are: the Three Gorges Dam on the Yangtze River, the Shanghai-Kunming High-Speed Railway, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, airport aviation (aircraft), Yangtze River cruise ships, Yangtze River waterway shipping (ships), urban overpasses, ring-river overpasses, and Wuhan Parrot Island Yangtze River Bridge.

Stamp 3: "Industrial Transformation and Upgrading" presents the new industrial pattern represented by new energy industries, intelligent manufacturing, high-end equipment manufacturing (automated automobile assembly), and electronic information industries. Key pattern elements include: new energy industries (wind energy, solar energy), ecological agriculture (tea gardens), automated automobile assembly, integrated chips, and R&D activities by scientific researchers.

Stamp 4: "New-Type Urbanization" takes new urban districts and characteristic towns as the design core, with a rational layout of business districts (modern building clusters), ecological zones (wetland parks, riparian vegetation belts, water systems), residential areas (residential buildings), and cultural heritage protection areas (ancient buildings in characteristic towns). It also incorporates figures engaged in activities to advocate national fitness and enhance the sense of life happiness. Main pattern elements are: Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing Grand Theatre, Chongqing Chaotianmen Yangtze River Bridge, Chongqing Qiansimen Jialing River Bridge, Chengdu Tianfu New Town, Wuhan East Lake New Area, Hangzhou Yunqi Town, and Xiaofeng Town in Anji, Zhejiang.

Stamp 5: "New Pattern of Opening-Up" highlights the coordinated and orderly operation of maritime, land, and air trade, featuring coastal ports, trade and logistics ships, containers, freight trucks, cargo planes, and railway transportation. Key pattern elements include: China Southern Airlines cargo planes, China-Europe Railway Express, Chongqing Guoyuan Port, and Shanghai Yangshan Deep-Water Port.

Stamp 6: "Coordinated Regional Development" embodies the vision of interconnection among provinces and municipalities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, open sharing of resources and information, and coordinated development, using urban building clusters, symbols of science and education, financial symbols, and background symbols of big data models. Main pattern elements are: Guiyang National High-Tech Zone Big Data Center, Anshun Covered Bridge in Chengdu, Sichuan, Yueyang Tower in Hunan, Tengwang Pavilion in Nanchang, Nanjing Zifeng Tower, Hangzhou Liuhe Pagoda, Shanghai World Financial Center, Shanghai Tower, and Shanghai Chongming Island.
